Are You Looking For Companionship Care In London?

If you or a loved one feels lonely and wants extra support at home, our companionship care in London can help.

A companion carer spends time with you, shares meals with you, and provides meaningful conversation and a sympathetic ear for your thoughts and worries. Companionship carers can also help with domestic household tasks, such as meal preparation and shopping trips. This combination of care and companionship enables you to lead a fulfilling and independent life and stay connected to friends and family.

Companionship care at home can take the form of visiting care, where a companion carer visits frequently for a few hours at a time to provide emotional support and reduce feelings of loneliness. Alternatively, a live-in companion moves into your home to provide dedicated support throughout your everyday life and forge a genuine and meaningful connection.

Whether you need a trusted friend, a listening ear, or someone to join you at social events, our companionship services can improve your overall well being and make life worth living.

Companionship Care

Companionship Is Essential To Your Wellbeing

Many of us take companionship for granted, yet research shows that loneliness and social isolation can harm a person’s health, affecting both their physical and emotional well being. Losing a lifelong spouse, facing health concerns, or struggling to get out and about can leave people in later life feeling isolated and lonely.

Our flexible companionship care services support elderly people and other adults at risk of isolation by offering a friendly face, emotional support, and practical help with routine household tasks. A companion for elderly people can help them stay active, maintain hobbies, connect with the local community, and enjoy life in their own home.

We work with family members to design a personalised care plan that supports the client emotionally, socially, and practically, and reflects their personal preferences. By sharing meals and good conversation with your loved one, our friendly and approachable team can enrich your loved one’s life and protect their health and independence.

Headshot of a care assistant

“One of my favourite things about being a companion carer is the joy of providing company and hearing life stories. My clients are wonderful, and I enjoy forming meaningful connections with them. Sometimes we prepare meals together, sometimes we go on shopping trips, and other times we enjoy time in local parks. Having a friendly companion and a listening ear not only helps reduce loneliness but also improves my clients’ quality of life. Being a companion carer is about being a trusted friend an

Our Care packages are bespoke

At Tiggo Care we understand how precious your loved one is to you and how unique they are. We also appreciate how overwhelming it can be to research and source the most suitable type of care.

We fundamentally believe that there is no ‘one size fits all’ care package and like to work with you and your loved one to understand your specific requirements. We’ll then create a tailored care package and match your relative with their ideal carer.

We're fully regulated

Unlike some other care providers, we are fully regulated by the Care Quality Commission. This means we are regularly inspected, rated and audited to ensure we are a safe, effective, caring, responsive and well led organisation, committed to delivering the best possible care.

We’re also proud members of the Homecare Association, the U.K’s membership body for home care providers, which holds organisations to a high set of standards and requests them to abide by a strict code of practice

Our carers are fully vetted & trained

At Tiggo Care, all of our carers undergo a rigorous recruitment and induction process. They are fully vetted and background checked, with all references followed up. Our carers undertake their training on the best eLearning system currently available within the UK care market, ensuring they are well placed to deliver the best possible service. Specialist training courses such as moving and handling, medications and basic life support are also completed by our carers face to face, as we feel these courses are more effective when delivered in person.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is companionship care?

Companionship care means having a friendly companion who spends time with you or your loved one, offering one-to-one company and social and emotional support. A companion carer can join you for everyday activities and assist with routine household tasks. They may share meaningful conversations, escort you to social outings, or support you at medical appointments. At its core, companion care is about providing company, reducing loneliness, and helping you enjoy a more independent life.

Do you offer live-in companionship care services?

Yes, as part of our companionship services, we can provide a live-in companion for elderly people and others who prefer to remain in their own home. A live-in companion can fit perfectly into your life, provide a listening and sympathetic ear, and help with household tasks. Live-in companionship care is ideal for elderly individuals who feel lonely or want extra support with everyday tasks. It’s flexible, personal, and designed to improve your quality of life while keeping you close to your friends and family.

What is the difference between a carer and a companion?

A carer or care assistant is trained to deliver personal care, such as help with personal hygiene and medication, and respond to more complex health needs. A companion carer, however, focuses mainly on providing good company, social interaction, and help with domestic tasks. Companions may provide help with meal preparation, shopping trips, and attending social events. Their role is to support your loved one in staying connected, enjoying a fulfilling and independent life, and avoiding social isolation.

What are examples of companion care services?

Companion care services may include visiting care and live-in care for those who need daily support. Companions spend time with you, accompany you on social outings, and provide help with routine household tasks. They might swap stories with you, play games, support your hobbies, and escort you to events and community groups. Companionship care can combat loneliness, encourage social interaction, and help an elderly person feel connected to their friends and family. For families exploring care options, we’re happy to discuss a companionship care package and the costs involved, and help you find the best companion for your loved one.
