Living in Epsom

Epsom is a historic market town in Surrey, just 14 miles south of central London. It's known for the Epsom Derby, the UK’s most prestigious horse race, and for its heritage as a Georgian spa town. The town centre is flat and accessible, with regular markets, local shops, and cafés that are easy to navigate. Nearby green spaces, including Epsom Downs and Langley Vale Wood, offer peaceful spots to walk, rest, or simply enjoy the view. Epsom also benefits from good transport links, including regular trains into central London from Epsom, Epsom Downs, and Tattenham Corner stations, and strong connections to Dorking, Leatherhead, and the rest of Mole Valley. With a wide range of local shops, strong community services, accessible transport, and nearby medical facilities, including Epsom Hospital, it’s a practical and welcoming home for older adults and people living with disabilities.

IT Support

If you or your loved one feels overwhelmed by technology, we suggest looking into a wonderful service run by Age Concern Epsom & Ewell. Their home-based IT support sessions are designed for older adults who want to become more confident using phones, tablets, or computers. Whether it’s sending an email, browsing the internet, shopping online, setting up a new device, or maintaining your tech skills, one of their friendly volunteers can guide you at your own pace using your own equipment.

Each one-hour session is available for a suggested donation of £20. Sessions run from Monday to Friday, between 9:30 am and 1:00 pm. To enquire, call 01372 732456 or leave a message outside of office hours. The service is based at The Old Town Hall, The Parade, Epsom, KT18 5AG.

Painting Class - Epsom

Looking for a gentle, sociable evening out? We recommend The Paint Club’s relaxed Painting Class, held monthly at Horton Golf Club, Hook Road, KT19 8QG. During two easy hours, an artist shows you, stroke by stroke, how to turn a blank canvas into a beautiful painting. Brushes, paints, and aprons are provided, and your artwork goes home with you.

The venue is step-free, with café-style seating and a bar for tea, coffee, or something stronger. No experience is needed, so it suits beginners, older adults, and people rebuilding confidence after illness. Tickets cost about £32 and should be booked in advance at thepaintclub.co.uk or on 01273 258148. Sessions start at 7 pm, and free parking is available. Epsom Station is a short taxi ride away.

More reasons to choose Tiggo Care

Our packages are bespoke

At Tiggo Care we understand how precious your loved one is to you and how unique they are. We also appreciate how overwhelming it can be to research and source the most suitable type of care.

We fundamentally believe that there is no ‘one size fits all’ care package and like to work with you and your loved one to understand your specific requirements. We’ll then create a tailored care package and match your relative with their ideal carer.

We're fully regulated

Unlike some other care providers, we are fully regulated by the Care Quality Commission. This means we are regularly inspected, rated and audited and ensures that we are a safe, effective, caring, responsive and well led organisation, committed to delivering the best possible care.

We’re also proud members of the Homecare Association, the U.K’s membership body for home care providers, which holds organisations to a high set of standards and requests them to abide by a strict code of practice

Our carers are fully vetted & trained

At Tiggo Care, all our carers undergo a rigorous recruitment and induction process. They are fully vetted and background checked, with all references followed up. Our carers also undertake their training on the best eLearning system currently available within the UK care market, ensuring they are well placed to deliver the best possible service. Specialist training courses such as moving and handling, medications and basic life support are also completed by our carers face to face, as we feel these courses are more effective when delivered in person.
